City and administrative centre of Taimyr Autonomous Region, northern Krasnoyarsk Territory, north-central Russia. Population 36,400 (1991).

A port on the lower Yenisey River, Dudinka was founded in 1667 and became a city in 1951.

The city exports nickel from the mines at Norilsk, with which it is connected by rail. It also has a natural-gas plant, using gas from fields about 100 miles (160 km) west of the city.
